Captains' Report
Hey Chac Charged Readers!
We hope everyone has had a fun and relaxing holiday and was able to sleep as much as they wanted, go to the beach or see some really good movies. As much as we all wish holidays could last forever, we’re excited to come back to school and get stuck in to what is sure to be a fantastic Term 2 and excitingly/dauntingly, the rest of the last year at school for us Year 12s.
We thought we’d take this opportunity, our first post on CHAC Charged, to let you all know our captaincy theme for 2017. Following last year’s Captains’ theme of ‘Triumph Through Teamwork’ we have decided on ‘Collaborate to Create’. While it may sound cheesy and random, we’ve chosen this theme as it demonstrates how we want to succeed this year through collaborating and working together, with everyone bringing their own strengths and attributes to the table.
We feel this can easily be translated to many aspects of school life, from collaborating and helping each other in class, sharing and developing ideas, or working together to create projects through committees or Student Council (whoop whoop - get keen for Student Council!). We’re hoping this theme will also inspire you all to collaborate with us this year and share your ideas or perspectives at Student Council meetings or through the Student Council suggestion box (yes, we do have one; it’s at Secondary Student Reception :) :) ).
We’re very excited about this year’s opportunities and are keen to get started with Student Council soon. Our broad goals for this year are to build upon the work of previous Captains, support and represent the interests of students, and work collaboratively as a student community. So, in the wise words of previous Captain, Joel Bulow, let’s get “keen as a green bean flying machine” and smash 2017.
